Creating rules in SiteHive to automatically monitor your noise and dust thresholds has recently got a whole lot easier. Your Construction Environmental Management Plan likely includes a range of criteria, based on different measurement periods (e.g. daily dust rules vs 15 minute noise rules). SiteHive removes the complexity of managing these with Quick Rules.
In the new, simpler Site Details section of your SiteHive, in the Rules section, you can now create the most common noise and dust rules at the click of a button:
For Dust, this is simply the daily average pm2.5 and pm10 thresholds (usually 25 μg/m3 for pm2.5 and 50 μg/m3 for pm10), which can be applied to any relevant devices in the same component:
Once these rules are added, they are automatically available in the Dust rules section, where they can be edited at any time to change thresholds or add additional devices:
For Noise, the Quick Rules component allows the flexibility of applying different thresholds for different time periods. You can choose to use predefined thresholds based on Time of Day (as defined by policy, e.g. the NSW EPA Noise Policy for Industry 2017), Site Hours (which can be configured per site), or Always:
As for Dust, once created they can then be edited to change thresholds, and/or the devices the rules apply to, by editing within Noise rules:
These thresholds will then appear immediately on your Dashboard, and allow you to set Notifications for events related to these rules (also in Site Details):
